The principal mission of the East Fishkill Police Department is to protect the rights of all persons within its jurisdiction, to be free from criminal acts, to be secure in their possessions, and to live in peace. The department serves the people of East Fishkill by performing the law enforcement function in a professional manner, and it is to these people that it is ultimately responsible.
The East Fishkill Police Department consists of a highly trained staff of more than 26 sworn officers and more than ten civilians. The Town of East Fishkill has a population of approximately 30,000 residents. The department covers more than 50 square miles of land and 180 miles of state, county, and town roads. The Police Department promotes community policing. In 1992, the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services recognized the East Fishkill Police Department as a fully accredited agency. The Department continues to maintain accreditation status.
Dutchess County 9-1-1 and East Fishkill Police Assistants dispatch calls. The Police Department provides emergency and routine services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The department also conducts criminal investigations and presents community programs such as School Resource Officers, Too Good for Drugs, Too Good for Violence Program, and community lectures.
