Town Clerk

The Clerk’s Office is the center of most Town business, the primary source of information concerning the Town, and the administrator for all Freedom of Information requests. The Town Clerk’s office issues State licenses/permits, maintains records of Town ordinances and local laws, annual budgets, bidding documentation, and bonding information, and is the recording secretary for all Town Board meetings. The Town Clerk is also the Registrar of Vital Statistics and the Records Retention Officer for the Town. The hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm – transactions until 3:45 pm – thank you.

Copies of Town Board Minutes

Minutes from the Town Board Meetings are available for a fee of $.25 per page or can be located on the Town Board web page and downloaded and printed.

 

Dog Licenses

All dogs over the age of 4 months must be vaccinated for rabies and must be licensed. The fee is $9.00 for a dog that has been altered and $19.00 otherwise. Applicants must submit a vaccination certificate and altering certificate along with the appropriate fee.

Dumpster Days

Dump Tickets may be purchased for a one-week period (Mon-Sat; No Holidays) ONLY. Tickets MUST be used during the designated week and are valid at Royal Carting, Route 82, Hopewell Junction only. Each ticket is good for one trip only.  Please note that this program is for seniors (65 and older) ONLY, and there are no refunds available.

Genealogy Research

For those who are doing genealogical research, you may download the NYS Application for Genealogical Services.  The Application should be submitted to the New York State Department of Health.

Handicapped Parking Permits

Applications must be completed by the applicant and his or her physician and returned to the Town Clerk’s office. The permit is issued for a period of up to five years and is valid in any handicapped parking space in New York State. Hunting and Fishing Licenses

Licenses are sold in Town Hall from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm – only – our system goes down at 3:00 pm

Licenses are only sold from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Hunters should bring their driver’s license and either a previous hunting license or a hunter education certificate when applying. The fee varies according to the type of license.

You can now purchase Sporting Licenses (Hunting and Fishing) directly from the New York State Department of Conservation (NYSDEC) here.

 

Marriage Licenses

AN APPOINTMENT IS NECESSARY FOR A MARRIAGE LICENSE.

CONGRATULATIONS!  AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.

Available 24 hours before the wedding but no more than 60 days in advance. Appointments are available Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:15 PM. The bride and groom are required to establish age and identity by submitting one of the following :

  • Original Birth Certificate OR a Certified Copy or Transcript     –     It must be professionally translated if it is not in English

AND ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Drivers License
  • Passport
  • Employment or picture ID

The fee for a marriage license is $40.00.

All past Divorce decrees and Death Certificates are REQUIRED.

These copies must be stamped, certified filed copies only.

 

No Door-to-Door Sales Registration

Vendors in East Fishkill must register with the Town Clerk before they are permitted to knock on your door. Signing up for this list allows you to “Opt-Out” from door-to-door sales visits.

Voter Registration and Absentee Ballots

Voter registration forms are available online at the Dutchess County Board of Elections website

The registration form must be completed and mailed to the Board of Election.

Absentee Ballot Application Forms are available on the Dutchess County Board of Elections website and must be completed and returned to the Board of Elections. The Board will then send the ballot to the applicant.
